Pressers Believe Miami Dolphins Are Backing Down On The Match Against Ravens Due To…
Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel was optimistic that Jaylen Waddle would be in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16. That optimism has reportedly shifted on Thursday.
Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network hinted this week Waddle could miss at least the rest of the regular season due to a high-ankle sprain. McDaniel appeared to contradict that report in the afternoon when he said Waddle’s injury wasn’t “overly severe” and the Dolphins weren’t ready to rule him out for Sunday.
Waddle’s trajectory in the Dolphins camp deflated Thursday after the star wide receiver missed his second straight practice. Per Adam Schefter with ESPN, Waddle is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
The Dolphins’ matchup against the Ravens could determine which team earns the number one spot in the AFC after Week 18. While the Dolphins would like Waddle to play in the critical matchup Sunday, they know pushing that injury in the regular season could harm the offense in the playoffs in a few weeks.
