Trade Deal:With Cavaliers Announcement About Mitchell Donovan Miami Heat Officially Makes…

The Miami Heat are potential suitors for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell and Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam.

The Miami Heat have the potential to shake up their lineup ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline.

Two of the biggest names potentially on the market are Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell and Toronto Raptors big man Pascal Siakam.

Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently released a list of each NBA team’s top three trade targets. Miami’s was highlighted by Siakam and Mitchell and also included Washington Wizards guard Tyus Jones.

The Heat have yet to pivot since losing this summer’s Damian Lillard sweepstakes, but they could still be in the market for a high-end shot-creator,” Buckley wrote.

“Should the Cavs ever put Mitchell up for grabs, they may not find more young talent than Miami could potentially offer, assuming the Heat would be willing to part with all three of Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Nikola Jović.

The Heat should hesitate before entertaining this deal because they would be moving on from two of their top players, Herro and Jaquez. The young stars are averaging a combined 37.9 points this season.

“If Miami prefers to spend less, this still looks like a sneakily intriguing landing spot for Siakam. Spacing could get cramped on a front line with him, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo, but the talent level would be tremendous, and the defense could be impenetrable.”

The fit is not ideal next to Butler and Adebayo, but Siakam is an additional offensive engine. Jones would act as the cheapest option of the three, adding a much-needed playmaker to the roster.
