“Chargers’ GM Search Takes a Ravens Twist! Joe Hortiz Emerges as Top Contender – A 26-Year Loyalty

Los Angeles Chargers are doing all they can to find the right person to fill their general manager vacancy, and they may have found the person this weekend. The Chargers announced they have just completed an interview with the Baltimore Ravens Director of Player Personnel, Joe Hortiz.

Hortiz has been with the Ravens in his current position for the past seven seasons. He oversees all aspects of college and pro scouting in Baltimore and serves as general manager Eric DeCosta’s chief personnel evaluator.

All Hortiz knows is Baltimore, as he’s been with the organization since 1998. The Ravens have been a great organization throughout the century, and Hortiz has played a role in building that throughout the last 26 years. Being with one team could have its pros and cons.

Horitz knows the Ravens, but only the Ravens. He has not dealt with other organizations and learned how they operate.

However, his dedication to the team shows what kind of loyalty he possesses. It’s clear Joe is more than qualified for the job, and we’ll see if the Chargers will give him the shot.
