Am Sorry ;Reasons Why I Will Be Leaving The Miami Heat…
Miami Heat guard Duncan Robinson is having one of his most fulfilling NBA seasons after a rollercoaster of success in recent years.
The Heat are impressed enough with his level of performance that they are listing him as “untouchable,” according to a recent report.
On the latest addition of the ‘Locked On Heat’ podcast, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer joined co-hosts Wes Goldberg and David Ramil to discuss all the latest surrounding Miami’s organization.
“Duncan Robinson’s now like off the table. Can’t have Duncan, which, for years, he was the name that you would always ‘Miami’s calling around trying to offer Duncan,’ and he’s untouchable now,” Fischer said. “You can’t have our sweet, sweet Duncan Robinson anymore.”
Robinson is averaging 13.9 points on 45.6 percent shooting and 41.1 percent from three-point range. He struggled to find the floor last season but is proving his worth in nearly 30 minutes per game this year.
It’s hard to believe the Heat’s front office would not entertain the idea of moving on from him in exchange for a superstar. Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, who the Heat are expressing “bona fide” interest, is the top name in trade rumors.
If Robinson moved the needle for them to acquire Mitchell, it would make sense for the Heat to hop aboard.
However, the Heat were hesitant to part ways with forward Caleb Martin in exchange for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Damian Lillard last offseason. They remained committed to Martin, who is averaging 10.5 points this year.
