While sim racing at Silverstone during the second day of the Real Racers Never Quit championship, Max Verstappen saw a corner that looked very familiar to him.

In 2021, Verstappen went through Copse Corner with Lewis Hamilton, but the Dutchman and Hamilton touched. This spun Verstappen into the wall at high speed.

The Red Bull driver hasn’t forgotten the crash, but Verstappen can laugh about it in his recent stream. “So it does work. Going side-by-side through that corner,” he joked in the interview after the race, which was broadcast on Twitch.

The day was successful for Verstappen, as he finished first at Silverstone and Mugello. Watch Verstappen’s joke about Copse Corner below.

Since 2020, Bradley Scanes has been Max Verstappen’s performance trainer. In November 2023, the Brit decided to move on. He had four great years with Verstappen in the top class of motorsport.

From FIFA in the coronavirus period to world championships in F1. Scanes recounted his first meeting with the Dutchman.

I flew over to Barcelona. I spent half a day there,” Scanes said on the Red Flag podcast. “He was testing some GT cars around the circuit Catalunya. All his family were there, met his dad and his girlfriend, friends. It was very open, exploring what each other wanted. We got on straight away.”
