Cardiff’s Surprise Move for Celtic Ace Turner Sends Shockwaves in Transfer Arena

Cardiff City have approached Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic over a potential move for midfielder David Turnbull.

The 24-year-old has made 16 appearances in the league for Celtic this season, scoring seven goals.

However, the five-cap Scotland international has started just one game since 3 December and has now been linked with a move to south Wales.

The Bluebirds, who have had a quiet January so far, are to sign Liverpool defender Nat Phillips for the remainder of the season after his loan at Celtic was cut short.

The club’s only completed signing so far is Japanese defender Ryotaro Tsunoda but he is spending the remainder of the season on loan at Belgian side KV Kortrijk.

Cardiff are currently 14th in the Championship having fallen off the pace in recent weeks.

The Bluebirds have won just two of their last eight games in the league, and are keen to get at least a couple more new players through the door before the end of the transfer window.
