Rams Plotting Bold Move: Could Patriots’ Gesicki Be the Tight End Game-Changer?

The Los Angeles Rams veteran tight end Tyler Higbee was injured as a result of a low hit against the Detroit Lions, so it might be time for the team to start exploring their options. Tyler Higbee suffered a torn ACL and MCL, which already made his recovery time long. But what’s worse is that the injury occurred late in the season, meaning the Rams would be smart to look for a tight end in free agency, as he will miss the beginning of the season. And one of the more intriguing names among the free agents is New England Patriots veteran Mike Gesicki.

The six-year veteran has not had the best past couple of seasons, as last year, he only played 50 percent of snaps, and the year before he only started in one game. If he was given a starting job, even if it was only until Hibgee returned from injury, the 28-year-old could prove that he still has some in the tank. Gesicki could be a good fit for the Rams, as he has been in the league for six years, and would be considered a veteran, just like Higbee. Whether the Rams decide to stick with backup tight end Davis Allen or look for an answer in free agency, a solution needs to be found soon for the position.
