Breaking News: Nottingham Forest Shock as Accepted Star Player Offer Takes Surprise Turn
Nottingham Forest accepted an offer from Sheffield United for Joe Worrall, but by the time they had, the Blades had moved on to signing Mason Holgate, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Worrall was widely tipped to move on from Nottingham Forest before the transfer window closed amid interest from Sheffield United and Leeds United.
Both clubs wanted to sign the defender on loan, but Nottingham Forest only shifted their stance to consider a loan on the final day of the window.
It has emerged that Nottingham Forest accepted an offer from Sheffield United for Worrall.
However, by the time Forest accepted the bid, Sheffield United had moved on to closing up a loan deal for Everton defender Holgate.
Worrall is still at the City Ground, but could yet have an escape route.
Turkish sides Trabzonspor and Besiktas, where the transfer window remains open, are trying to sign Worrall.
They have until Friday to agree terms with Nottingham Forest and convince Worrall to make the move to Turkey.
