Reactions As Nebraska Cornhusk Signs A Powerful Quarter Back From…

Nebraska joins the hunt for four-star QB Dereon Coleman in the class of 2026.

Nebraska and schools across the nation will always do their best to bring in a high-level quarterback with recruiting. It starts with offers and pitches along with the history.

They have had a rich history with QBs in the past as they are looking to add to that lengthy and legendary list headlined by guys like Tommie Frazier.

Dereon Coleman is a 2026 four-star quarterback from Jones High School in Lakeland, Florida.

He measures in at around 5-foot-11 155-pounds according to ON3. He holds many offers including Nebraska.

Following his Nebraska offer he spoke with HuskerMax to go into detail.

“It was a great deal to receive the Huskers offer because of the tradition of the program. Knowing that the program has a strong following and winning history.”

“The winning tradition. The fan base. I heard it is a great atmosphere to play in. The stadium is loud from what I heard so that’s what catches my eye,” Coleman said.

Coach Adam DiMichele is who I spoke with. He explained how I would fit in the system, and that I could be successful as a Husker. His personality over the phone was good. Seems to be a player-coach.”

Coleman spoke about what he looks for in his recruitment.

It starts with a good relationship with my position coach. Then, I look for a program that has good academic support, a winning tradition, and a great fan base so I’m able to be involved in the community to help better myself in the future.

Finally, I would say a program that has a history of putting QB in a position to make it to the professional level.”
