Bengals In Trouble As Joe Burrow Rehab Is Hit With A Set Back As Alternatives Are Sort For Him.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ Super Bowl hopes were snuffed in 2023 when Joe Burrow was lost for the season. He quickly got surgery to address the issue, but it always seemed to be a long recovery process.
Well, in a recent post on Bengals.com, Geoff Hobson was able to chat with Burrow and get an update on his injury and how recovery is going, which was very positive.
“I’m doing the rehab every day. That’s always a part of it,” Burrow said. “As far as my offseason training, it hasn’t really affected it too much. I’ve been able to pretty much do everything I normally do from a lifting and conditioning standpoint. I’m in a great spot body-wise.
Based on this, it seems like some restrictions have been lifted already if Burrow is already doing his standard offseason lifting and conditioning. He also makes a point to mention how he’s trying to build strength and may play at a higher weight than the 215 pounds of the past.
Could that be something that helps him stay healthy and leads the Bengals to the Super Bowl?
The key to the offseason for the Bengals is getting Burrow back healthy and keeping him healthy all the way up to Week 1. The Bengals got off to a slow start in 2022 and 2023 due to Burrow not being able to play in preseason and not being 100% when the season started.
If he can get warmed up in the preseason this year and be fully healthy on the first snap of Week 1, this could finally be the year that the Bengals get off to a hot start under Burrow and are competitors for that one seed and home field advantage through the NFL Playoffs.
