Rashee Rice has extended a five-year contract with Chiefs today…

Rashee Rice turned himself in to Glen Heights Police on April 11 in connection with his role in a six-vehicle crash in Dallas last month. Rice was later released on bond after being at the Tri City Jail in DeSoto, Texas. He is expected to receive a multiple-game suspension from the NFL soon for his role in the incident, according to ESPN.

The legal process, both criminal and civil, is just being beginning for Rice. Both he and SMU cornerback Theodore Knox are being sued for $1 million by two victims in the crash on March 30, according to a Dallas County lawsuit, via Fox 4 Kansas City. Plantiffs Irina Gromova and Edvard Petrovskiy are suing for $1 million on account of their severe injuries that include “trauma to the brain, lacerations to the face requiring stiches, multiple contusions about the body, disfigurement, internal bleeding and other internal and external injuries that may only be fully revealed over the course of medical treatment,” according to the court document.

The two plaintiffs, who were behind the wheel of their respective vehicles, were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Rice faces eight charges in the case: six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and one count of aggravated assault, according to the arrest warrant (via WFAA). Rice’s top speed, 119 miles per hour, occurred right before the crash, per an arrest warrant affidavit acquired by the Dallas Morning News.
