The Vols have a thin quarterback room, that’s why former UCF walk-on Gaston Moore has gotten a few snaps at quarterback this season. Moore impressed in the Tennessee Spring Game and played a bit against UConn.
Heupel will likely search for Iamaleava’s backup in the transfer portal. He likes to utilize the portal to bring in veteran QBs like he did with Hooker and Milton. So, Moore could decide to test the portal himself and see if he can find playing time at a lower level.
Since taking over at Tennessee, Heupel has seen Harrison Bailey, Kaidon Salter, and Tayven Jackson transfer out of his QB room. That’s left it thin and it could get thinner if Moore or Navy Shuler, whom Moore beat out for the QB3 job this season, search for greener pastures
