Taylor signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He originally made Detroit’s 53-man roster following camp and dressed in 1 regular season game although he was later placed on the practice squad in late October. In June of 2023, Taylor was suspended in June of 2023 for violating the NFL’s gambling policy indefinitely through at least the 2023 season for betting on NFL games in 2022 along with 3 other players. In April of 2024, Taylor was reinstated by the NFL.

Taylor will look to make a big impact after missing an NFL season to try to draw the attention of NFL scouts and potentially make it back into the NFL universe. It is interesting that he signed with the BC Lions after having been a Detroit Lion in the past. Canadian defensive end Mathieu Betts did the opposite this offseason signing with the Detroit Lions after setting a record for most sacks by a Canadian in a CFL season last season
