Joe Worrall returns to Nottingham Forest this summer fresh from helping loan club Besiktas to lift the Türkiye Kupasi in his final appearance of the season – and he has thanked the Turkish giants for the ‘fantastic memories’ which have been made.
Worrall began the campaign in Forest’s starting XI and as captain under Steve Cooper, but he was sent off in the 3-2 defeat at Manchester United early in the season – a game in which Forest were 2-0 up inside five minutes – and he lost his place in the line-up during September. When Cooper was sacked and replaced with Nuno Espirito Santo, Worrall made a fleeting return to the side, predominantly in the FA Cup.
