Noah Lyles: My Rejuvenated Paris Olympics Dream The World Record In 200m Will..

Noah Lyles will be gunning to return to his winning glory after his season opener loss to Oblique Seville in Jamaica.

World champion Noah Lyles will have his chance at redemption at the New York City Grand Prix on June 9, after his defeat in his season opener at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica.

New speed sensation Oblique Seville claimed a famous victory over the world’s fastest man in a new Personal Best (PB), Meeting Record (MR), and world-leading time of 9.82s, as Lyles finished closely behind in 9.85s – his second-fastest career time.

His loss stirred several conversations online and has even birthed a new rivalry with the Jamaican youngster as both parties look forward to the Paris Olympic Games.

This time, Lyles will aim for a statement performance when he competes in his favourite event – the 200m in New York.

The six-time world champion will face a respectable field that includes Liberia’s speedster Joseph Fahnbulleh, his brother Josephus Lyles, and the young duo of Terrance Laird and Brandon Hicklin.

Aside from going for the outright win, Lyles will be gunning to smash Kenny Bednarek’s world-leading time of 19.67s to prove he’s still the best in the roaster ahead of Paris.

Lyles has an ambitious target of making the US Olympic team in the 100m and 200m events and winning a quadruple of gold medals – including the 4x100m and 4x400m at the Olympic Games.
