In what seems like an every-window thing, we’re of course looking for yet another striker signing this summer. Benjamin Šeško isn’t a new name in that regard, with the young striker already linked back in 2022, when he was still just a teenager and the next big thing coming up in the Red Bull system.
He has since traded up from the Austrian Bundesliga to the German Bundesliga, from RB Salzburg to RB Leipzig, treading down the same path as Erling Haaland — though comparisons to the Manchester City man have faded with Šeško not quite able to keep the goals coming at the same rate. To wit, Šeško’s 14 goals this season were only good for 8th in the league, well behind teammate Loïs Openda’s 24 and a far cry from Harry Kane’s league-leading 36.
