Iowa Women’s Basketball recruits in the On 3HER Top 25

Iowa Women’s Basketball recruits in the On 3HER Top 25.

On Thursday afternoon, On3 debuted their first-ever women’s basketball recruiting rankings. The Hawkeyes have ties with three players in the top 25, including four-star, #14 overall prospect Addison Deal who committed to Iowa back in March. We take a look at where Iowa targets landed in the debut rankings.

Chose Iowa over: LSU, Stanford, Iowa State, Indiana, Arizona, Oregon, USC and UCLA

Notes: A massive get for the Hawkeyes, Addison Deal is the highest-rated recruit to choose since Caitlin Clark, who was rated as the #3 player in the country by ESPN.

Even bigger than the commitment itself was the decision from Deal to stick with Jan Jensen and Co. after Lisa Bluder announced her retirement in May.

As a sophomore for Mater Dei High School, Deal was named Orange County Player of the Year, averaging 15.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals for a Monarchs team that went 29-4.

This season, Addison had her high school season cut short, suffering a Grade 3 sprained ankle in Mater Dei’s final game at a Nike Tournament in Arizona in late December.

Offers (potentially incomplete): Iowa, Utah, USC, UCLA, Oregon State, Tennessee, Louisville, North Carolina, Duke, Oklahoma, Arizona, California, Texas A&M, BYU, Kentucky, Utah State and SMU.
