NEW ORLEANS: Jahkeem Stewart, a defensive lineman at St. Augustine in New Orleans, Louisiana, is perhaps the best prospect in the country for the 2026 recruiting class, and he recently visited Ohio State. During our stay on the Southern Swing, Stewart repeated, “It was my best visit.” It was excellent. Simply walking up there, striking up a conversation with coaches LaAllan Clark and Larry Johnson, and seeing the atmosphere. I think my skills and background would be a good fit for Coach Johnson’s current program. Why not choose to be coached by the iconic and one of the greatest college football coaches of all time? It’s a successful program that is reliable, and since I value reliability so much
Why did the five-star prospect’s visit to Ohio State differ so much from the others? “Links,” he murmured. Simply put, the whole feeling of things. Simply sitting down and having a conversation with the coaches, who have everything set up to let me know what needs to be done. Although I’m told how good I am by everyone, I’m the kind of player that always wants to improve. Thus, I need even more coaching. A follow-up visit is already planned, so the Buckeyes won’t have to wait long to get another chance to wow the 6-foot-6, 270-pound talent.
Stewart declared, “I’m going to return for a camp sometime in June.” “My coach will handle everything because he has access to all of my dates and personal information.”
Stewart has hit it off with Johnson so far with the Buckeye D-Line coach heaping some heavy praise upon Stewart’s potential.
“It’s great,” he said. “Having coach Johnson in your ear, like I said, he’s a legendary coach so just him coaching all of those great players, like Chase Young. He compared me to Chase Young and he showed me how he would use me in the scheme and everything. He feels like I’m one of those franchise players and I feel like he could develop me into that person.”
