Woman in Rochester Charged with Disguising Her Boyfriend’s Body for Social Security
A woman from Rochester is charged with embezzling her deceased partner’s Social Security income by concealing his remains in her basement. According to federal authorities, Wendy Stone, 63, placed her deceased live-in boyfriend’s body in a recycling bin in December 2022 and thereafter took out a new debit card for his benefits.
Occasionally, she would cover the body with bleach to avoid unpleasant smells. Stone is said to have gotten close to $10,000 in total. Stone faces accusations of making false statements, aggravated identity theft, and theft of government funding. She might be sentenced to ten years in prison and pay a fine of $250,000.
