Tennessee OL Vysen Lang Verge to enter NCAA transfer portal.
Tennessee offensive lineman Vysen Lang plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a statement on his Twitter/X profile.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Lang was a three-star recruit out of Pike Road (Ala.) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 29 overall prospect in the state, the No. 67 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 715 overall prospect in the class.
I want to start off by saying thank you to the coaching staff for giving a kid from (Alabama) an opportunity to be apart of the Tennessee program,” Lang wrote in his statement. “I want to also thank my brothers in the locker room for bringing me in and making me feel welcomed.
Would also like to thank the fans and people of Knoxville for being one of the best fan bases in football. Rocky Top will always have a special place in my heart for everything it has done for me.
With that being said, I will be entering my name into the transfer portal with three years of eligibility left.
While Tennessee awaits a likely College Football Playoff bid, Lang will look elsewhere to continue his college career.
“Next step for us as a program,” head coach Josh Heupel said. “And when I say that, we look at what we’ve been able to do since I’ve been here, especially the last you know three years, including this one.
There’s an expectation from our staff and our players. It was a goal, but there was an expectation to be in this, and that comes from the work that everybody’s put in and who we have in the building.
“Proud of these guys for executing and putting us in a position to be there. Now the next season starts, what are we gonna do with it?
