Not long ago, Kentucky Wildcats transfer portal target Magoon Gwath decided to return to San Diego State. On Sunday, the process repeated itself, and target Tyrone Riley announced that he was returning to San Francisco.
Mark Pope reportedly met with Riley, either in person or via a Zoom call recently, with interest in the West Coast Conference All-Freshman team member. He was one of a number of guard they met with or contacted.
As a Freshman last season, the 6’6″ guard posted 9.6 points and 6 rebounds per game. He also averaged more than a steal per game. His three-point shooting wasn’t great, but will likely improve with more experience.
Coming out of high school, Riley had offers from teams like the Florida Gators, but chose San Francisco instead. Now, he has once again spurned bigger programs in favor of the Dons. Good luck to him next season, and in the future
