Fichajes have claimed that Giovani Lo Celso has already made up his mind to leave Tottenham in the January transfer window.
Despite being linked with an exit from Spurs until transfer deadline day, Lo Celso remained put at the North London club, with reports indicating that Ange Postecoglou reassured the player’s camp that he would have a role at the club this season (Express).
The Argentine’s only start so far this campaign has come in the Carabao Cup second-round clash against Fulham last month but he has missed the last couple of matches due to a hamstring problem.
A couple of days ago, we relayed a report from AS which claimed that Real Betis were set to make another attempt to sign up Lo Celso after failing with a move for him in the summer.
This claim has now been backed up by Fichajes, who state that Betis are ‘attentive’ to the Tottenham man’s situation ahead of January.
The outlet states that the midfielder has ‘made clear his desire’ to leave Spurs in January and return to the Benito Villamarin Stadium.
It is alleged that even though Lo Celso has received offers from other clubs, he has shown a clear preference to join Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
I am sceptical about this report as Lo Celso has not been available for selection over the last few games and thus has no reason to be upset about his lack of game time. Having said that, I do not expect him to get too many minutes over the next few months, particularly after Brennan Johnson’s arrival.
