Marc Roca told Spanish newspaper Marca that he “learned to love Leeds” during his time at Elland Road, despite playing a leading role in the club’s relegation – and jumping ship in the summer.
Roca, 26, joined Leeds after two difficult seasons with Bayern Munich.
A highly qualified player, since he comes from the German champions and plays in La Liga with RCD Espanyol.
A cultivated left foot.
While he showed glimpses of Leeds, he couldn’t muster what was needed in the middle of the park.
Finally, relegation.
Roca is one of eight players who used the relegation release clause in their loan contract and left.
Starring Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Luis Siniterra, Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison and Max Wober.
Roca returned to Spain with Betis and played in the blue and white shirt.
“I don’t stop enjoying it at any time, not even for a second.
The truth is we had a great dressing room, a great atmosphere, I really enjoyed it and was very involved.
A year of growth and personal development.
“The intensity is very high in the Premier, playing against the best.
I have learned to love Leeds.
I like it because I play in the Premier League.
I was very connected to the club.
It didn’t end the way we wanted, but I enjoyed it.
It’s clear that Roca is a top player.
His early form at Betis earned him a national team call-up for Spain.
He has been excellent in La Liga – scoring in the 3-0 win over Valencia on Sunday night.
But perhaps Spain is suitable for Roca.
This did not happen in Germany and was only fleeting in the UK.
He may love us, but he doesn’t do enough for us to love him.
Spain is the best place for him.
