Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke has scored his first goal for Sweden as the 23-year-old converted a corner against Moldova. Brendan Rodgers moved quickly to replace Carl Starfelt with his compatriot Lagerbielke in the summer with the talented central defender joining in a £3m deal from Elfsborg.
The move has allowed the player to play in the UEFA Champions League, albeit he was sent off after two bookable offences, and earned himself an appearance for Sweden again tonight. The player certainly took his chance as he scored Sweden’s second of the evening.
The summer signing rose to meet Jesper Karlsson’s excellent corner and beat the Moldova goalkeeper, doubling Sweden’s lead at the time.
