Sadly: West Coast Eagles loses a Player..

AFLW Head of High Performance Wes Salisbury provides an update on West Coast’s injured players ahead of the Eagles’ round eight clash with Essendon

West Coast Eagles influential young ruck Sarah Lakay has been ruled out for the season after suffering a setback with her ongoing lower back injury.

Lakay has been working through her rehab for the past four weeks but unfortunately, has not progressed through the final stages as well as hoped.

“Unfortunately, she’s suffered a late setback and hasn’t quite responded as well as we would have liked to the planned increase in training,” AFLW Head of High Performance Wes Salisbury said.

“This means an extended period off legs to continue her recovery and will effectively rule her out for the rest of the year.”

Emerging defender Zoe Wakfer is also set to spend some time on the sidelines with a finger injury sustained at training last week, and will not be available to face Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday.

Injury List

Zoe Wakfer Finger 1-2 weeks

Sarah Lakay Back Season

Sasha Goranova Knee Season

Krstel Petrevski Ankle Season
